Face it, the old shop made offset collet wrench was a wreck. It slipped off of the armature, constantly. Then, since the collet couldn’t get real tight, the bit might start to wander. Frustrating on that nice lumber you got.
No more. A new offset collet wrench is there, specifically for the Bosch router. You can torque down on that, and it doesn’t slip off. Even after the previous wrench has been gnawing on the flats.
I didn’t get a chance to test for bit stability while running, but simply installing the bit and removing it, I was able to comfortably add a lot more force to the collet.
